Do We Really Have Only Five Senses?

It’s customary to speak of five senses, smell, taste, touch, sight, and hearing, and to hint at a sixth. But what about our sense of how much, how far, and how fast i.e. the senses of timing, speed, distance, space, height, and depth?

And there’s more … what about a sense of danger, fear, anticipation, conscience, and the esoteric: the feeling that something mysterious is hidden from us?

And it doesn’t end there. There is a sense of injustice, of honour, of harmony, and of integrity, the sense of humour, and the absurd.

Beyond the world of the five physical senses, it seems emotion and intellect combine to create these other, more complex senses.
